Emrill Energy, an energy management solutions provider in the UAE, has entered a groundbreaking Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM), a globally renowned association dedicated to enhancing the real estate management profession, headquartered in Chicago, USA.
The MoU was formalised by Stuart Harrison, CEO of Emrill, and Dawn Carpenter, CPM, the 2025 President of IREM. The agreement was further endorsed by IREM’s 2025 President-Elect, Mindy Gronbeck, CPM.
This strategic collaboration highlights the shared vision of Emrill Energy and IREM to promote energy efficiency and sustainability through innovative solutions, education, and collaboration. The partnership will provide real estate professionals with access to advanced training programs, workshops, and resources designed to foster sustainable building operations and asset management.
Harrison remarked: “This partnership marks a significant step forward in empowering real estate professionals to adopt sustainable practices. Together, we will provide the tools, training, and expertise required to create energy-efficient communities that align with the UAE’s vision for a sustainable future.”
IREM will leverage its global expertise in real estate education by delivering customised training programs and expert-led workshops to Emrill Energy’s network. The collaboration will also facilitate resource sharing and joint marketing initiatives, amplifying the adoption of sustainability and energy management practices across the industry.
Shariq Ahmad, Associate Director at Emrill Energy, commented: “We look forward to working alongside IREM to bring practical sustainability into FM and energy management solutions. Our goal is to empower professionals with the tools and knowledge needed to seamlessly integrate sustainable practices into their business operations, driving long-term value and positive environmental impact. Together, we aim to make sustainability a key focus in every aspect of FM and energy management business operations.”
IREM’s Senior Director of International Programmes, Leah Misbin, added: “Our collaboration with Emrill Energy is a testament to our commitment to fostering sustainable and innovative practices in real estate management. By combining IREM’s global reach and Emrill Energy’s regional expertise, we aim to create a transformative impact on the real estate sector.”
As part of the MoU, the two organisations will host workshops and networking events to promote energy efficiency and sustainability. These initiatives will equip property managers and real estate professionals with the skills and knowledge necessary to reduce carbon footprints, optimise energy use, and deliver value to stakeholders and communities.
This partnership exemplifies Emrill Energy’s dedication to innovation and sustainability, as demonstrated by its past initiatives, such as the Cooling-as-a-Service (CaaS) model, which achieved significant energy savings and carbon footprint reductions. The company’s efforts to collaborate with regulatory authorities, implement energy efficiency policies, and educate property managers have established benchmarks for sustainable practices in the region. Through its alignment with IREM’s mission to advance real estate management through education and advocacy, Emrill Energy aims to accelerate the development of smarter, greener, and more efficient communities.
