World Expo 2030 Riyadh

The 176th General Assembly of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) has formally registered World Expo 2030 Riyadh.

The approval of Expo 2030 Riyadh’s Registration Dossier makes it possible for Saudi Arabia to begin the implementation phase, including the official invitation of international participants via diplomatic channels.

Organized under the theme “Foresight for Tomorrow,” Expo 2030 Riyadh will take place in the capital of Saudi Arabia between October 1, 2030, and March 31, 2031.

Saudi Arabia was elected host country of World Expo 2030 during the 173rd General Assembly of the BIE in November 2023. Riyadh is the first Expo host to complete and submit its Registration Dossier in almost half the time usually required for this kind of dossier. The Dossier serves as a document that sets out the scheduled operational dates, legislative and financial measures, the Expo site Master Plan, the conditions for international participation and legacy plans.

Eng. Ibrahim Al Sultan, acting CEO of the Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC), remarked: “The approval of the Registration Dossier in record time highlights the Kingdom’s leadership on the global stage and underscores the world’s confidence in Saudi Arabia’s vision and capabilities. It also reflects the high level of professionalism demonstrated by the teams involved in preparing and reviewing the Registration Dossier. This milestone marks a significant step forward in the Kingdom’s journey to deliver an exceptional and unprecedented edition of the World Expo, in line with the Saudi Vision 2030 objectives.”
